Located east of Java and west of Lombok, Bali is a province of Indonesia comprising the island of Bali and a few smaller offshore islands. As one of Indonesia's leading tourist destinations, Bali has witnessed a significant rise in tourism since the 1980s, making up nearly 80% of its economy. Being the only Hindu-majority province in Indonesia, 86.9% of the population adheres to Balinese Hinduism.

Renowned for its arts, music, dancing, sculpting, painting, and leather and metalworking, Bali has some of the highest biodiversity of marine species. It is home to numerous species of fish and turtles and several UNESCO World Heritage Sites. In addition, travellers going on a trip to Bali can also witness the Indonesian International Film Festival every year. All of these contribute to making Bali one of the world's top tourist destinations, being given the Traveller's Choice award in 2017 and 2021. The above-stated factors, along with its proximity to India, visa-free access up to 30 days, delectable cuisine, relatively cheaper travel and accommodation expenses, and acceptance of Indian travellers, make Bali an ideal destination for Indians.

While Indonesia is a relatively safe travel destination for Indians, attracting more than 4.4 lakh Indian travellers in 2023 and many more expected to do so in the near future, Indians need to consider certain potential risks associated with visiting Indonesia. To secure their trip from travel-related risks and travel confidently, travellers can avail a travel insurance for Bali to travel confidently.
