The nation is made up of four countries: England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Boasting a rich history, diverse culture, and stunning natural landscapes, it is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, the North Sea, the English Channel, the Celtic Sea, and the Irish Sea. The UK is famous for its rich history, cultural heritage, vibrant cities, and world-class education.

The country is ruled by the Monarch, King Charles III as the head of state, and the UK government is headed by the Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak. Currently, it is the 6th largest market economy in the world measured by nominal gross domestic product (GDP).

All of these factors along with India’s close relationship with the United Kingdom makes the country one of the top destinations for Indian travellers. With nearly a million Indian travellers visiting the UK in 2022 and an expected increase in subsequent years, the UK is a major travel destination for Indians.

However, in recent years, whether it is reports of high medical expenses and some travellers facing loss of baggage and other risks, travellers are advised to remain cautious and travel carefully.
